Instructions

Decide if seeing naked hikers and bathers is comfortable for you. There are not often naked hikers, but there are often naked bathers. This area is seen as a place of escape and relaxation. Some choose to relieve their stresses after removing their clothing. There are notices along the trail that warn of nude bathing in the Pots. Most people are fairly private and discreet and are not there to flaunt their nudity. Hikes in the morning and early afternoon are less like to encounter nudists.

Drive up Spanish Fork Canyon to the Three Forks area. An alternate route to the Hot Pots is to follow Hobble Creek to the upper portion of Diamond Fork Canyon. The trail head is at the base of the Three Forks parking lot and is clearly marked. The trail follows the Diamond Fork River.

    • 3

Wear good hiking boots. The trail is not strenuous but there are a lot of rocks and tree roots along the path. Some parts of the trail are also narrow and there are some drop-off areas. This is an easy enough hike for children. Keep a close tab on small children so they don't tumble down any embankments.

Enjoy the beauty that surrounds you, whether you're hiking in the winter with the bows of trees filled with snow or in the fall when the trees are seemingly on fire with their leaves of red and orange. Spring will bring beautiful blossoms and buds on the tress, and in summer, the trees will give a welcome canopy of shade. Many critters, large and small, make their home in the canyon.

    • 5

Bring plenty of water and snacks for the hike. Hunger pangs will most certainly abound after hours of hiking, swimming and relaxing in the pools. Do not leave water bottles or trash behind.

    • 6

Use caution when entering the pools. They can be slippery from algae and water. The temperatures in the pools also vary. A water fall brings cold water into the Pots, so the amount of the cold water that flows into any given area will determine the temperature. Some pots are extremely hot and one should exercise caution when entering.

    • 7

Always be polite to fellow bathers. If you are not comfortable with nudity, this may be a good time for you to leave. Remember that this area is known to many for their ability to be "free." Use discretion when taking children, and definitely avoid this area at night.

Tips & Warnings

  • Bring water shoes or sandals to wear in the pots. They will give you traction and protect your feet from rocks.
