Step 1
Go for something authentic to Texas if you are just visiting. Texas has the best barbeque and Mexican food, known as Tex-Mex. Riscky's Barbeque is your best bet for some down home Texas barbeque. Order a rack of ribs, coleslaw and some Texas toast for a really satisfying and authentic meal. If you are walking on the spicier side of hunger, try Joe T. Garcia's or Cabo Grande. Sit outside on the patio while you settle into a Texican fiesta.
-
Step 2
Eat a great burger if your taste buds are not quite so daring. There are several excellent burger joints around. For the unadventurous, there are plenty of chain restaurants too. For those willing to step out on a limb, try a local burger joint. Billy Miner's Saloon, located in Sundance Square, is a sure bet. Zippy's American Grill, also in Sundance Square, has a menu to satisfy all your hungry little cowboys.

Step 3
Take a chance on some international cuisine. Sundance Square houses Italian, Chinese, Japanese, French and many other foreign and exotic eateries. Check on-line for specific restaurant names. There are chain international restaurants as well as some unique to the area

Step 4
Devour a big Texas steak. There are amazing steak houses located all over Fort Worth. Eating a steak at the Stock Yards is about as Texas as you can get. Try the Lonesome Dove Restaurant or the H3 Ranch. In Sundance Square, 8.0 Bar and Cafe is a good choice.
-
Step 5
Eat something fishy. Try one of Fort Worth's great seafood restaurants. Daddy Jack's Seafood is a sure pleaser, or try the Mercury Chop House. Both are located in Sundance Square. Pappadeaux Seafood Restaurant, located in the Fort Worth Cultural District is also a great choice.
-
Step 6
Save some room for dessert, and visit a bakery or ice cream parlor. The Marble Slab Creamer, while not unique to Texas, is a sure pleaser to all crowds. Have them mix in your favorite toppings to your choice of ice cream for a yummy and chilly dessert. La Madeleine Bakery and Cafe has baked goods that are sure to make your mouth water. Both can be found downtown at Sundance Square.
