Rate: (0 Ratings)

To achieve auto racing success, at some point, you'll need a sponsor. If you're good enough, an associate sponsorship is a great way to offer the sponsor some great exposure, while getting you much needed funds. Follow these steps to find an associate sponsorship that is right for you.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Phone
  • Internet
  • E-mail
  • Creativity
Step1
Solicit local gas stations, family owned restaurants, bottling firms and all-purpose convenience stores. This is a good starting point because these businesses offer services to the racing fan demographic.
Step2
Pu together a sponsor request package. Ask the prospective sponsor if it would be interested in providing services initially before money, so it can see what kind of reception they get from the racing industry.
Step3
Build a good, friendly rapport with the potential sponsor. Treat this relationship like you would a friendship--with mutual respect and kindness.
Step4
Communicate and compromise. Make sure you're open to the requests of the sponsor, but be willing to ask that it fulfills your needs, too.
Step5
Document all sponsorship services that will be provided. Accurate record keeping will keep both parties happy with the arrangement.

Tips & Warnings

  • Always recognize the sponsor in photos and interviews. This will increase exposure for the sponsor and increase their overall pleasure with the sponsorship.
  • Be willing to display the race car at the sponsor's request and location. This will attract fans and potential customers of the sponsor.
