How to Balance Assignments/Work

How to balance those things you know are important or need to be done.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
First, though relaxation is important, you need to understand the excuse 'I'll do it tomorrow' is the worst one possible as you can always say, as there will always be a tomorrow. (Well maybe not, but I'm not discussing philosophy). After all, what is today but yesterdays tommorrow?
Step2
Draw a 6x6 chart with the words 'URGENT' in the bottom 2 boxes down the side, and write 'IMPORTANT' across the farther-most right 2 boxes. Then make a list of all the things you need to have done and sort them into either, 'Urgent, Not Important','Not Urgent, Important', 'Urgent, Important' or 'Not Urgent, Not Important'. Start with what's in the Important & Urgent box and work your way from there.
Step3
Don't try to convince yourself that even if you don't do it, things will turn out OK, SOMEHOW. 'Cause I'm telling you, IT AIN'T GONNA' HAPPEN!

Tips & Warnings

  • Think of all the free (guilty-free) time you'll enjoy after it's done.
  • Don't be lazy
