How to Find the First Five COG Tags in Gears of War

There are a total of 12 COG tags in Act 1. We’ll tell you how to get the first five here. These will be some of the easiest to get, but that’s to be expected since it’s the beginning of the game. The easiest way to do this will be to start a new game and follow us through. Ready?

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

1. Start a new game and head out of your cell. It doesn’t matter which path you take.
2. Go straight once you choose your path until you hit a wall. COG Tag #1 is on the floor to the right of the red gear.
3. Head on through to the next large room. Look for COG Tag #2 under a catwalk next to an ammo crate.
4. Clear the room with COG Tag #2 and head out into the open area.
5. Look to your left. See the staircase? Head up and turn left. You should see COG Tag #3.
6. Begin chapter 2, Trial by Fire. COG Tag #4 will be pointed out to you the first time through, but in case you missed it, it's on the deck between a long, low wall and a large stone block. If you’re headed up the stairs, go back.
7. Continue through chapter 2 until you cross a long bridge. Along the way, you’ll see the corpses of some Gears that could be Alpha squad. Just after the bridge, you’ll head into a building. COG Tag #5 is on your left just before you leave the room.
