Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Research, read and learn all you can about the practice, history and beliefs of Wicca. I highly recommend reading "Wicca For Beginners: Fundamentals of Philosophy & Practice" by Thea Sabin. There are also many web sites dedication to the craft (see below).
Step2
Decide whether to practice as a solitary witch or to join a coven. There are many online resources on finding covens in your are (see below).
Step3
Choose a magickal name for yourself. This name is important because it is what others in the Pagan community will call you. Be sure it is a name you know and will continue to like. In addition, your name should hold some significance to you and should reflect your goals, dreams, ideals and aspirations. "our Magickal Name: Using Astrology, Numerology, Myth and Meaning to Choose the Perfect One" by Phyllis Vega is an excellent naming resource.
Step4
Practice a ritual or two to honor the God and the Goddess. Because ritual is such an important part of the Wiccan religion you should research and prepare yourself before you start. This includes ritual purification baths, consecrations, charging of magickal tools, fasting and selection of chants or music.
Step5
Choose an appropriate place to practice your rituals. You may want to create a sacred place by cleansing an area. Prepare an altar and be sure to keep it stocked with all the necessary ritual items needed to perform your magick.
Step6
Be sure to honor and observe all Sabbats that fall within the Wiccan year. Special rituals, foods and clothing can be prepared and/or made for almost every Wiccan Sabbat.
