A very simple way to create your own graphic t-shirt

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer
  • Photoshop/Illustrator
  • Iron-on printer paper
  • Blank t-shirt
  • Scissors
  • Iron

Step1
You will need some sort of graphics application program installed on to your computer. The most commonly used programs are Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. If you don't have these programs try finding someone who has them or find an alternate program that can provide the same results.
Step2
Use Photoshop or Illustrator to design whatever you want on your t-shirt. Make the design as simple as possible, so that later on you can easily cut it out without any problems. Also, make sure that the design fits within a 11 x 8 1/2 paper.
Step3
Print out the design on an iron-on printer paper. The iron-on printer paper is readily available at your local office supply store such as Office Depot or Staples. Be sure to look at the iron-on papers carefully because there are two distinct kinds A) paper that is for white t-shirts and B) paper that is for colored t-shirts.
Step4
If needed, cut out the design carefully with either a scissor or an exacto knife.
Step5
Following the instructions accompanied to your iron-on printer papers, iron on the design on to your t-shirt.
Step6
Let it cool, and it's ready to be worn!

on 4/19/2007 Nice article!
Beware, some computer printers will get jammed up with iron-on paper because one side has a thin layer of glue that melts when it gets hot. This is how the iron "sticks" the design to your t-shirt.
If you don't want to risk jamming your home printer, just go to a copy shop and ask to use their heat-transfer ready copiers.
