Skiing in the spring could mean up to 60 degree temperatures dipping down below freezing at night. You'll work up a sweat with all the exercise you'll be doing skiing or snowboarding. The springtime and the elevation make the sun brighter and stronger.

From Quick Guide: Ultimate Packing List
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Layers on top. Layers can be removed if it gets too warm.

  2. Step 2

Use thermal underwear closest to your skin. A fabric that wicks perspiration away from your skin is preferable. Short sleeves or even sleeveless if the weather is warm will work.

  3. Step 3

Trap warmth with the middle layer. Try something like polar fleece if it is cold and windy.

  4. Step 4

Choose a light jacket that will break the wind for your outer layer. It doesn't have to be heavy. A zip away lining allows you to adjust to cooler temps at night or warmer temps during the day.

  5. Step 5

Wear thermal underwear bottoms. Cotton is comfortable.

  6. Step 6

Wear light weight ski pants. That will afford you greater flexibility and comfort. During the day the warmth may allow you to wear sturdy wind pants instead.

Tips & Warnings
  • Long socks specifically for skiing are a must to keep the boots from rubbing your skin.
  • Wear lip protection with sunscreen to avoid chapped lips.
  • Wear sun screen with a high SPF rating. Re-apply several times during the day.
  • Don't forget the gloves.
  • Goggles block the wind and protect your eyes.
