Even if you hold a full-time job and are gainfully employed, padding your pocket book is always a good idea. Not only can you treat yourself to the occasional shopping spree, you'll be in a better position to handle unforeseen financial crises. Whether you're planning a dream vacation or dreaming of paying for that vacation you took last year, there are plenty of options for supplementing your income. Consider the ideas below to fortify your funds.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Interest in making extra money
  • Computer with Internet
  1. Step 1

Check major job databases for part-time, freelance and contract positions. Use your job experience, degrees and special training to find more specialized positions

  2. Step 2

Participate in a focus group. Look online or in the phonebook under "marketing" to locate companies that facilitate these meetings. You could be paid a pretty penny for lending your valuable opinion.

  3. Step 3

Capitalize on your talents and hobbies. Advertise your services in local classified ads or service-oriented Web sites.

  4. Step 4

Pedal your wares. You don't have to pawn your beloved guitar, but rid yourself of unused possessions. Use Web sites like eBbay and Craigslist (see Resources) to sell anything from clothing to cars. Also take advantage of specialty and consignment stores to unload compact discs, records, home furnishings and other collectibles.

  5. Step 5

Be on the look out for usability studies. High tech companies pay individuals to use and evaluate new programs and software. Check the classified section of your local paper for ads.

Tips & Warnings
  • November, December and January are prime months to land temporary or part time work and make some extra money.
  • Be aware of work from home scams. While looking for supplemental work you'll likely encounter amazing employment opportunities that require nothing of you, but promise big bucks. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
