How to Use your Blackberry to Send Messages

The Blackberry is a handheld device meant for busy people who need to get work done on the fly. It allows you to send SMS and email, plus sync with your computer or, of course, make phone calls. Basically, it makes communication easier. Here is how to use your Blackberry to send messages.

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Choose between SMS or e-mail messaging. The Blackberry allows you to exchange text messages to users that are also using SMS-enabled devices. E-mail messaging lets you exchange messages via the Internet.
Step2
Click on either the SMS icon or the E-Mail icon, depending on which sort of message you want to send.
Step3
Add a recipient. SMS users can select the cell numbers from the Blackberry Contacts, while e-mail users can select their addressees from the Address Book. Or, type in your recipient manually on the keypad.
Step4
Type your message by using the Blackberry keypad and stylus or fingers.
Step5
Press Send once you have completed the message. A confirmation will display notifying you of a successful delivery.

Tips & Warnings

  • Press the Space key twice to insert a period.
  • To capitalize a letter, hold the letter for a few seconds.
  • It may take a bit of time to be good at “thumbing” on the Blackberry keypad.
