Balloon bouquets are inexpensive to make, go together quickly and add instant flair to the festivities!

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Heilium tank
  • 3 latex balloons for each bouquet
  • Fishing weight
  • Curling ribbon
  • Pom-pom (for base of bouquet)
  • Scissors
  1. Step 1

Purchase supplies and rent the heilium tank. The balloons should be a match to the celebration--for weddings, match the colors of the wedding party; for baby showers, pink and blue; for a New Years celebration, gold, black and white, etc. Purchase enough to allow for breakage of balloons, and plenty of ribbon.

  2. Step 2

Fill up one balloon at a time with heilium, tie or clip with a balloon fastener.

  3. Step 3

Tie ribbon onto the neck of the ballon, leaving a long piece for curling. Tie other end to the fishing weight making sure to size the height of the arrangement before securing the base of the ribbon to the fishing weight. Add another strand of ribbon to the neck of the balloon. Curl ribbons at balloon neck.

  4. Step 4

Repeat Step 3 two more times, making sure that all three balllons are at differnt levels from each other, staggered, begining at about 2 feet off of the table.

  5. Step 5

Cut about five strands of ribbon long enough to go from the tallest balloon to the table.

  6. Step 6

Tie a bow with the five strands at once to the center of the anchoring ribbons.

  7. Step 7

Curl the strands of the bow. Fasten the pom-pom to the base.

  8. Step 8

Repeat Steps 2 through 7 for each bouquet you wish to make, making sure that they match. Balloon bouquets look best when they are identical. The curled ribbon need not be identical.
