If your kitchen cabinets are looking old and worn, restore their luster and shine by giving them a good cleaning. It'll take years off of their looks. Follow these easy steps and get your kitchen cabinets looking brand new again.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Mild soap
  • Wood cleaner
  • Orange oil
  • Soft rags

Step1
Wash all exterior surfaces down with a mild soap in warm water. Use
a soft cloth.
Step2
Remove excess wax and other hard to remove substances with a wood
cleaner. Follow the directions on the cleaner's container carefully.
Step3
Wipe the cabinets down with a dry, soft cloth.
Step4
Purchase wood polish. Orange oil works great and leaves a yummy
citrus smell in your kitchen.
Step5
Spray the cabinets down one at a time with the orange oil. Then, rub the oil into the cabinets using a soft cloth.
Step6
After all the cabinets are oiled, use a new cloth to wipe them down one last time. This will remove any excess oil from the cabinets and leave them with a nice sheen.

Tips & Warnings

  • Install and use cabinet pulls (or knobs) to keep your cabinets looking fresh longer.
  • Use a wax-free oil.
  • Spray the oil lightly, a little goes a very long way.
