When you think of entertaining guests in your home, you might want to consider the needs of other mothers just like you. Starting a mom's night out group is a great way to get to know your neighbors, make new friends, offer support and encourage community well-being.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer with Internet access
Step1
Search the Internet for established mom's night out groups. This will give you an idea of groups around you and hints for creating your own group.
Step2
Make a list of the mothers you can invite such as those in your neighborhood, church, children's sporting events or other social activities.
Step3
Create a flyer on your computer listing the ideas you have for a mom's night out group. You should include your name, phone number or email address and the area you live in.
Step4
Distribute the flyer throughout your neighborhood, church and social activities. Check to see if nearby kid-friendly businesses like the pediatrician, gym or fast food places with playgrounds will let you post the flyer.
Step5
Consult with your spouse or family members about watching your children during the mom's night out meetings.
Step6
Pick two or three nights that are convenient for you and list these on your flyer. When other mom's contact you, have them tell you which of these nights is best for them. Then you can choose the night that's best for the majority.
Step7
Set up an email address folder or spreadsheet to keep track of the contact information.
Step8
Choose an opening night and invite all those who have contacted you. During the meeting, discuss activities, fees and goals for the group.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be organized and prepared with a list of ideas you have for the group. Appoint other mothers to share the organizational responsibilities with you.
  • Be careful not to list too much personal information on the initial flyer so that you protect the safety of you and your family.
