Road trips were meant to be accompanied by killer road music, but let's face it, almost all terrestrial radio is lame. So don't even bother with the radio, go with an MP3 player or just burn a bunch of CDs. Either way, you'll be able to customize a soundtrack for your car trip on the open road. Follow these steps and create the perfect mix of music for your travels.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer
  • CD burner or MP3 player
  • Computer software for music transfers

Step1
Determine the music preferences of the people you will be traveling with if you are not traveling alone.
Step2
Ask your traveling companions to give you a list of some of their favorite songs or music artists.
Step3
Go through your personal CDs and choose your favorite songs.
Step4
Decide the best format for you to save your travel music. Your best bet, of course, are recordable CDs or an MP3 player like an iPod.
Step5
Consider making different discs or different playlists for each member on your road trip. Also, think about themed CDs/playlists. For instance, if you're going to be driving through Texas, create a list with Texas-themed tunes.
Step6
Enjoy your selected tunes on the trip.

Tips & Warnings

  • Test your saved music in your vehicle before you leave to make sure it copied correctly.
  • If you don't own the CD of a song you want, many songs can be purchased individually and downloaded off the Web.
  • If there are young kids in the car, you might want to not include profane-laden music from acts like N.W.A., Dr. Dre or Eminem. .

on 6/5/2007 If you're going to make road trip playlist, you better put some rockers on there. like stuff by the Doors and the Stones. None of that wimpy stuff from boy bands like Nsync.
