Rio De Janeiro is one of the most popular tourist sites in all of South America. It is rich in history, it hosts the Carnival festivities and it has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

  1. Step 1

    Visit the Corcovado, one of the most recognizable symbols for Rio De Janeiro. This gigantic statue of Jesus is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Rio, and for good reason. It's position is spectacular.

  2. Step 2

    Go to Rio during Carnival!! This annual event is an exciting time of music, parties, and fun. It attracts thousands of locals and tourists every year. This event takes place every year during the four days before Ash Wednesday.

  3. Step 3

    Make sure to go to Ipanema Beach. This world famous beach gives tourists the unique flavor of Rio.

  4. Step 4

    Ride a cable car to Sugarloaf Mountain. This will give you a breathtaking view of the ocean and landscape in the Rio area.

  5. Step 5

    Enjoy the wonderful climate and visit the beach again. This time go to Copacabana Beach. This beach has shops, bars, restaurants and hotels lining the shore.

  • Take a one-day tour of the area through a local agency. These agencies will give a broad sense of knowledge and information about the area.
  • Enjoy the local cuisine. Rio De Janeiro is not only known for its sights.
  • Make sure to have some cash. The Brazilian real is the local currency.
  • Be on guard and use common safety sense when exploring the city. Rio can be fairly dangerous.
