Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Binoculars
  • Water
  • Camera
  • Food supplies
  • Maps
  • Camping gear
  1. Step 1

Choose a camping site. There are over 10 designated camping grounds within the park. These are Bridge Bay, Canyon, Fishing Bridge, Grant Village, Indian Creek, Lewis Lake, Madison, Mammoth, Norris, Pebble Creek, Slough Creek and Tower Falls.

  2. Step 2

Set up your camp properly. Take your time and enjoy the surroundings. Pick a spot that is flat and has a decent amount of shade.

  3. Step 3

Store food safely. The park contains a large amount of wildlife. You do not want a grizzly bear sticking its nose in the tent at night to get a bite of your half-eaten candy bar!

  4. Step 4

Schedule some events for you and your family. There are thousands of places to hike, fish or just do some leisurely sightseeing.

  5. Step 5

Take your binoculars. The wildlife inside of Yellowstone can make for amazing sights. With a pair of binoculars, you have a better shot at witnessing them in action.

  6. Step 6

Try a few different campsites. If you are going to stay in the park for more than a couple of days, then change campgrounds. Each campground can give a unique experience.

  7. Step 7

Keep Yellowstone clean! Do not throw trash on the ground and make sure to clean up after yourself.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be careful! Never get too close to wildlife. Wild animals may react in violent ways if they feel threatened by you.
  • Get a detailed map of each park section you plan to visit.
  • Yellowstone can be a packed place during the busy season. Tourists seem to be everywhere, but if you get away from the most popular places then you will not have to rub shoulders with your camp mates.
