  3. Step 3

    The state flower is the Pua Aloalo.

  4. Step 4

    The state fish is the Humuhumunukunukuapua'a, also known as the Hawaiian Triggerfish.

    The state gemstone is Black Coral.

  6. Step 6

on 8/2/2009 Step 9 should be clarified with a caveat. The political correct term for a person of Hawaiian ethnicity is "Native Hawaiian".

on 12/4/2008 'A'ole (NO), A person from Hawai'i is not called a Hawaiian. A person that has koko (Blood) is Hawaiian, meaning a person whose heritage dates back to the Kanaka maoli that lived in Hawai'i before 1776, the year the westerners arrived. A generalized person from Hawai'i is called a local or a kama'aina.
