Things You’ll Need:

  • Cash, certified check or money order
  • Marriage license application
  • Pen
  • Divorce decree, if applicable

Step1
Obtain an official marriage license application in person at any county clerk's office or request one by mail. Only an unmarried male and an unmarried female may marry in Oregon.
Step2
Complete and sign the application.
Step3
Return the application to the county clerk's office in person or by mail. The fee for the license is $60, payable in cash (if returned in person), certified check or money order. Personal checks are not accepted.

Tips & Warnings

  • A license can be issued one day after the final date of a divorce. The final divorce date is required on the marriage license application.
  • There is a three-day waiting period from date of issue until use. The license is good anywhere in the State of Oregon for 60 days from the effective date.
  • Blood tests are not required in Oregon.
  • Marriage license requirements often change. Verify all information with your local marriage license office or county clerk before making any wedding or travel plans.
