Rocky Point, also known as Puerto Penasco, is a jewel in the Sonoran Desert on the Sea of Cortez. It is a longtime favorite of the people of southern Arizona and California. Just a few hours from Tucson and San Diego, people flock here in droves and come back often to this once small fishing town. 4. Book your accommodations early if planning on vacationing during spring break or the summer. Rocky Point during spring break fills with college students. Partying is constant and pervasive, so beware if bringing small children with you.
5. Rent a condo, townhome, or beach home from a reputable company. If possible, try companies that have an office in the United States.
6. Camp in your RV on the beach in Rocky Point. It is just a short walk to the shore from this nicely maintained campground. Call ahead to see if reservations are needed for the campsite.
