How to Remove Crayon Stains From Wallpaper

Children seem to enjoy nothing more than drawing on walls and floors. If your little one drew with crayons on your wallpapered walls, follow these simple steps to remove her artwork.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Car part lubricant such as WD-40
  • Warm water
  • Liquid dishwashing detergent
  • Sponge
  • Soft cloth
  1. Step 1

    Spray the affected area of scrubbable wallpaper with WD-40 or another car part lubricant.

  2. Step 2

    If the surface is heavily soiled, leave the lubricant on for 3 minutes.

  3. Step 3

    Wipe the area with a clean, soft cloth.

  4. Step 4

    If any residue remains, wash it with warm water and liquid dishwashing soap.

  5. Step 5

    Use a sponge and work the soap in a circular motion.

  6. Step 6

    Wipe the area dry.

Tips & Warnings
  • Test the process in an inconspicuous area before attempting it on a larger area to make sure the wallpaper won't be damaged.
  • This method should only be attempted on scrubbable wallpaper.
