Find a local MMA gym. These gyms have spread across the United States and the world. A good MMA gym offers jujitsu, kickboxing and wrestling. These skills are all needed to become a good MMA fighter.
-
2
Visit fan-built Web sites, of which there are hundreds to thousands. (For the best known, see Who Can Help below.) These sites are informative, and many have forums where you can talk to other fans. You can develop a solid understanding about MMA by perusing these sites.
-
-
3
Buy training videos or books. They do not provide the same hands-on training as you would get in a gym, of course, but you and a buddy can learn techniques by practicing with their help.
-
4
Get in good physical shape. Punching, kicking and grappling all take their toll on your body.
-
5
Be patient, and take your time learning. You cannot become a professional fighter overnight. It takes months to years to become an expert.

MMA doesnt necessarily mean you are going to be a full contact pro fighter. (although it seems to be the most popular definition) This article is a liitle Vague on the subject. MMA is literal: Mixed Martial arts - menaing any 2 or more martial arts styles blended together. Bruce Lee is most famous for popularizing MMA in America, as he was an advocate of "mixing styles". --Dan Haney Hillsboro, Oregon -
