How to Plan a Tour of Underground Seattle
Underground Seattle is a lively part of Seattle's history that is not well know to many people. The underground tour is a little creepy, and at times has an off smell. However, it is well worth the trip because the tour guides are humorous and the history is fascinating; at times even a bit juicy. This is a fun and unique tour that will definitely leave you with a great memory of Seattle.

Leave the stilettos at home. Comfortable shoes are definitely in order for this tour. There are several flights of stairs and much of the walking surface is uneven.

Drive to Pioneer Square and park at any metered parking spot. Or better yet, ride the bus; it is part of the Metros downtown free zone. The bus is the easiest option, for maneuvering through some of Seattle's crazy streets and crowded parking areas.

Arrive a half an hour earlier than your desired tour to get your tickets. They are on a first come, first serve basis. If you are traveling with a group and would like a private tour of the underground, call (206) 682-4646, ext. 202 at least two weeks in advance to schedule your visit.

Hang out at Doc Maynard's while you wait for your tour. It will begin here with a brief history while you are seated.

Pay attention to your tour guide throughout the tour. You will not want to miss any of information that they will share with you. There is so much fascinating history to this city. It will leave you reeling.

Visit the Klondike Gold Rush Museum after your tour. This museum takes only a brief amount of time and it is located in Pioneer Square near the underground tour.

Finish off the day with dinner. There are so many fabulous restaurants to choose from in Pioneer Square. You will likely have a difficult time deciding which cuisine will satisfy your taste buds. If you are in the mood for Italian, Trattoria Mitchelli, at 84 Yesler Way is the place for you.

Tips & Warnings
Be aware of your surroundings and do not stray into unknown territory in Pioneer Square. This is home to many vagrants. Be especially diligent at night.
Bring an umbrella. The Seattle sky is so unpredictable.
Your best bet for parking may be under the Alaskan Way Viaduct.
Wear comfortable shoes.
The underground tour is not handicapped accessible.
