I'm going to admit something to you guys. I'm a tremendous dork. In the past few years, I've learned to embrace my dorkitude in a number of ways. One of my favorite ways to express it is by hosting double-feature movie night, complete with food and drink which echo the theme of the film. Here's a classic:

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Select, from your permanent collection, Indiana Jones 1 & 2. Not in your permanent collection? Run out and buy them! Actually, wait on that. For the party, perhaps just rent--the smart thing would be to buy the quartet of films once the 4th installment is released.
Step2
Demand that everyone dress as a particular character from one of the films. I was Willie from the opening number of Temple of Doom. Natch.
Step3
Serve something "surprise". Now, I'm not saying it needs to be "Snake Surprise", although if you were a true Indy fan, you would make it so.
Step4
Chilled monkey brains would, ideally, be served out of Monkey-Head cups. Plum out of Monkey-Head cups? Serve red jello from any ol' cup, but be sure to label it, Chilled Monkey Brains.

Tips & Warnings

  • A game of charades which features themes, quotes, etc from the movies of the night is a fun, further way to dorkify the evening.
