With DVDs coming out in multiple disc sets, either from long movies, or television series, it is convenient to have a multi-disc DVD player. When you decide to buy a multi-disc DVD player, there are a few things you should consider, including space, cost, and how often you’ll use it.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • internet access
  • computer

Step1
Decide if you really need a multi-disc DVD player. Do you have several television shows on DVD or several multi-disc movies? Do you plan on entertaining a lot with movie nights? These are questions to consider when seeing if you even need a multi-disc player or not.
Step2
Choose what size of multi-disc DVD player you’re going to need. They come in ranges of three disc capacity to over four hundred disc capacity. If you are going to use this as a storage device as well, remember that you’ll need room as you eventually purchase more DVDs
Step3
Measure where you’re going to put the player. If you’re looking to put a multi-disc player in a small area of your entertainment center, you will have to choose a player with fewer slots for DVDs. The larger amount of DVDs you can put in a player, the larger it is going to be.
Step4
Decide on a budget. Multi-disc DVD players can run anywhere from less than a hundred dollars to over five hundred and more. Decide if what you’re going to spend is equal to the amount of discs the DVD player will hold.
Step5
Visit stores like Best Buy online and in person. Online you can browse without being pressured by sales people, and in the actual store you can talk to in-store professionals who can answer any questions you might have like which models are most popular, what are some of the features on any players you’re interested in, and if the store offers any warranties on the players they sell.

Tips & Warnings

  • Always consider what kind of setup you already have. If you have an older television set, an expensive, high tech DVD player may not work as well with it. The same goes for a newer television and low tech players.
  • Think about the inputs of your current TV. Some TVs out there only have the bare essentials for audio/video inputs, make sure you take this into consideration when choosing a Multi-Disc DVD Player.
  • Most importantly, remember, you get what you pay for. Remember to keep this in mind when selecting a portable DVD Player that meets your needs.
