How to Perform the Zergling Rush in StarCraft

This little trick works for both the original StarCraft and the Brood War expansion, though if you perform it in a "No Rush" multi-player game, it will probably get you flamed. But, if the rules permit and the map isn't too big, the Zergling Rush will give you either a quick win or a serious advantage from the start.

Things You'll Need

• Computer
• StarCraft or the Brood War expansion

1. Play the Zerg.

2. Set all your drones to harvest minerals.

3. Breed an additional drone and wait for your drones to collect 150 minerals.

4. Morph your spare drone into a Spawning Pool.

5. Wait until the Spawning Pool completes, then convert all your existing larvae into Zerglings.

6. Turn them loose once they hatch, and keep cranking them out!

Tips & Warnings

• This only works on a small map. On a larger map, your opponents have time to build up defenses before your Zerglings get there.

• To guard against this, immediately build defenses of some kind (bunkers, turrets or colonies).
