How to Use Windows Flip 3D on Vista

You can use Windows Flip 3D on Vista to quickly page through multiple open windows. Basically, thumbnail pictures of all open windows are arranged on the desktop like a card file and you can flip through them until you find the right window.

Instructions

    • 1

      Find the Switch Between Windows icon located by the Start button and the Show Desktop icon. Click on this to enable the Flip 3D feature.

      Roll the center mouse button up or down to flip through the open windows. Left-click on the window that you want to display at full size.

      Repeat as needed to navigate between different programs.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you haven't selected a window and you want to get out of Flip 3D mode, go to the Switch Between Windows icon and click it again. This brings up a normal desktop view.

  • The last window visited is displayed on top of the 3D pile of windows. If you click anywhere on the task bar at the bottom of the desktop, you will automatically return to the last window viewed.

  • This feature does not work if your computer has a limited amount of RAM or a sub-par video processor.
