Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Electric drill with drill bits
- Screwdrivers
- Adjustable wrench
- Pliers
- Tape measure or other measuring device
Step1
Consider the area for unit placement, which can be critical to your viewing pleasure. Is there a power supply for the unit? Is a cable or satellite hookup needed? Will viewing be available from all angles? Is there enough space for any outside inputs that are needed? After you've answered all these questions and determined the best location, it's time to install the unit.
Step2
Clear any items from inside the counter that may interfere with installation. Remove any light fixtures that may be installed under the cabinet as well as bar accessories like mug hangers.
Step3
Unpack the unit and all its included hardware. Take a moment to review the parts list before beginning the installation to ensure that all parts are included. If anything is missing you should return it to the dealer and get a different TV.
Step4
Read the instruction manual or installation guide that comes with the unit. Installation is pretty straightforward, but read the manufacturer’s steps before you begin.
Step5
Elevate the unit into the chosen spot to ensure that it fits. If the TV doesn’t fit, you may need to remove more obstacles or return it for a smaller model.
Step6
Install the mounting brackets. Align your under the counter TV and mark its location. Place the mounting bracket(s) against the underside of the counter and use an electric drill and the included screws to secure it in place. If your under the counter TV does not have mounting brackets you can purchase them from an electronics store like Best Buy or online at BizRate.
Step7
Attach the under the counter TV to the mounting bracket(s). Your TV will probably snap into place inside the mounting bracket. However, you may need to secure the TV to the bracket with additional screws. Follow the instructions for your particular model.
Step8
Plug your under the counter TV into a power source to make sure it works correctly. Before you connect any additional devices you will need to make sure the TV is working. Plug the TV in and hit the power button to ensure it works.
