How to make an Italian Screwdriver

Why am i always posting about mixed drinks? Well, drinking is a family tradition, but more importantly is the fact that I had grown tired of arriving at get-togethers where the only mixed drink my peers could serve me is vodka with a splash of cola. Hopefully these articles encourage you to treat yourself to bartender quality drinks and change up the menu at home a bit.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• 1 1/4 ounces of citrus flavored vodka
• 3 ounces orange juice
• 1 1/2 ounces of grapefruit juice
• 1/2 ounce ginger ale
• Sugar
• Ice

1. 
    

   Lay out a small sheet of aluminum foil and sprinkle sugar onto it.

2. 
    

   Wet the rim of a hurricane glass and rub it in the sugar until the entire rim is sugar coated.

3. 
    

   Then pour the vodka, orange juice, grapefruit juice, and ginger ale into a cocktail shaker.

4. 
    

   Mix together and pour into the hurricane glass over ice.

5. 
    

   Top with a slice of lime and a cherry.

Tips & Warnings

• To make yourself look super cool you can cut a spiral out of an orange peel and garnish on top of the drink. (Title picture above.)
