1
Alter your phrases. Search engines focus on the phrases your page uses and the weight of the key phrase or keywords used. When writing your site's content, be sure to place the greatest emphasis on the keywords or key phrases. 2
Turn your site into a resource. Search engines will give your page a ranking based in part on how much of a resource they think it is to others. To make your site more of a resource, try to become an authority in your particular area.

3
Ensure that your site is relevant. Search engines also make ranking decisions based on the relevancy of your page in terms of the topic it is about. To make your site more relevant, be sure to provide regular updates and timely information.

Partner with other quality sites. Linking to other quality sites and having other quality sites link to your page is a very important factor search engines use in determining rank. Be sure to contact other relevant sites and inquire about forming partnership links. You can also purchase and sell links on websites like LinkAdage.com (see Resources below).

Be careful when you link to a website that is banned by Google. It will hurt your page rank. You can determine this going to the homepage of the website where your link appears and checking the google toolbar for website page rank. The page rank box which is usually white with the percentage represented in green will be grey. -
