Lap band surgery is considered a safe and convenient method to help a person lose weight and adopt a healthy lifestyle. It's the least-invasive surgery and it can be fully reversed. Follow these steps to find out how to reverse or remove your lap band after surgery.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Talk to your surgeon and discuss the need to remove the band. Usually, the band is removed if the person’s body doesn't accept the band after a long span of adjustments, if the patient gets pregnant or if the patient is suffering from problems due to malnutrition despite taking dietary supplements.
Step2
Let the surgeon run tests and check if the band actually needs to be removed. Maybe he or she can re-adjusting it to cure the problem.
Step3
Get the surgery reversed after ensuring your surgeon's approval. Note that this can be done by either removing the band or by taking the saline out of the band.
Step4
Visit the surgeon who performed your lap band surgery. Speak with her or him about your intention of reversing or removing the band.
