How to Podcast with Skype
A podcast is an audio program, similar to a radio show, distributed via the Web and it is generally downloaded to an MP3 device such as an iPod. Some people record podcasts in expensive studios but you can record your own podcast from the comfort of home using any audio recording program. You can include other people in your podcast, regardless of their location, by calling them on Skype – a program that supports VoIP teleconferencing via a computer – and recording the conversation.
Instructions
-
-
1
Plug in your recording equipment. If your computer has a built-in microphone, you can use it rather than hooking up an external microphone.
-
2
Launch your audio editing program. Applications suitable for this purpose include GoldWave, GarageBand and Adobe Soundbooth.
-
-
3
Log in to your Skype account.
-
4
Call the person with whom you wish to record a podcast. Click "Record" on the audio-editing program when you begin the call.
-
5
Conduct the podcast. Discuss any new topics relevant to the theme of the podcast. Be sure to identify yourself and the person with whom you are speaking.
-
6
Terminate the call when the podcast is finished. Click the "Stop" button in the audio-editing software.
-
7
Save the file and upload it to your personal blog, the podcast's blog or a website.

Tips & Warnings
Test your mp3 file to see that it works and that the material on it is satisfactory before you post it.
Make sure you tell the party that you are recording the conversation, so you avoid legal issues.
If you add music or sound effects in post-production, don't use copyrighted music. There are plenty of royalty-free music sites you can take music from.

This is way too oversimplified for someone who doesn't already know the answer. There must be some other settings in your recording program that have to be changed in order for this to work, because I just tried this with Audacity and can't get it to work. I'm going to have to look elsewhere for the answer. -
