Step 1
Consider the situation and the impression that you want to leave before spraying on the perfume.
-
Step 2
Think about the room in which the event will be held. If it will be a small event in a closed room, skip the perfume. It may affect others negatively.
-
Step 3
Consider the people that you will be with. If any have allergies, don’t wear perfume. If you’re uncertain, it's better to be safe than sorry.
-
Step 4
Will you be in a closed car or small space with other people? Most people won’t tell you that your perfume bothers them, but more people are affected by scent sensitivities than you think.
-
Step 5
Consider applying your perfume after you arrive at work if you take public transportation.
-
Step 6
Leave the perfume off if you have a doctor’s or dentist’s appointment, and never wear perfume if you are having surgery or X-rays.
-
Step 7
Skip the perfume at a job interview. You want to be remembered for your skills, not your alluring scent.
-
Step 8
Don’t wear perfume for outdoor picnics or barbecues, especially if they are near gardens. The scent of perfume attracts bees and other insects.

on 3/4/2009 Step 5 is a horrible idea. Never spray perfume at work, especially in an office environment. Your coworkers need to breathe. It is obnoxious, even in the bathroom.
