How to Properly Apply Mascara Quickly

Mascara can make your lashes appear dramatic or just highlight them. Applying mascara is simple—just follow the steps below.

Things You'll Need:

• Mascara

1. Remove the lid from the mascara tube.

2. Pull the wand out of the tube.

3. Starting at the base of your upper eyelashes on the under side, gently pull the brush through your lashes to coat them with mascara.

4. Gently brush some mascara onto your lower lashes using the same technique as above.

5. Wait for the mascara to dry before applying a second coat.

Tips & Warnings

• Working underneath your lashes will help define the curl in your lashes, making them appear more dramatic.
• If you get some mascara on your eyelid or below your eye, use a cotton swab to wipe it away. Wet the swab if needed.
• Don’t pump the wand in and out of the tube—this will get too much product on the brush, and your eyelashes will be clumped with mascara.
