    Sometimes the base coats that say "strengthen" do so by drying the nails. For dry or brittle nails try a base that says "rejuvenates", or "restores". The article says "how to choose the best polish" and then advises the reader to experiment to find the best polish... I need to look and see if I can name brand names... but...Many major department store cosmetic lines sell excellent but more expensive polish. Most of the "drug store" lines are not as good a quality. You can almost use price as a standard, many beauty supplies carry both cheaper off brand and some major lines, though there have been a couple expensive (off brands) polishes that did not deserve the fame (chipped, peeled, poorly mixed), the middle price range of major manufacturers are generally good quality.
