Unless you live in France, your chances of stumbling into a rare perfume shop are quite slim. If, however, you have fallen in love with a scent that is not widely available, there may still be a way to get your hands on it, provided you have Internet access. Read on for more expert tips.

2. Search for the brand name of the perfume online to see if the brand has a Web site, then search within the site for the specific scent. You may get lucky and find it is as easy as that.

3. Search for the specific name of the scent online to find out if anyone else might still be selling it. Be sure to check auction sites like eBay.

4. Take the scent to a custom perfumery to see if they can recreate it for you. However, be aware that this could be an expensive option.

• Once you find the perfect scent, stock up on a couple of bottles. Even if the perfume is quite rare or the manufacturer goes under, you will still have a bit of the scent to enjoy and maybe even enough to recreate it.
