Finding and using natural foot deodorants seems like a simple task, but there are several important things to keep in mind when selecting your product. Foot deodorants have various ingredients that may be harmful to the skin, so it is important to know and understand the different ingredients in order to make a good selection.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Essential oil
  • Aloe vera gel
  • Mineral water
  • Cornstarch
  • Glycerin
  • Lavender
  • Witch hazel extract
  • Baking soda
  • Spritzer bottle
Step1
Before purchasing a commercial natural foot deodorant, do some online research about different products.
Step2
Read labels carefully. Most brands indicate whether their product is purely deodorant or is both an antiperspirant and a deodorant.
Step3
Make a baking soda powder deodorant by mixing equal parts of baking soda and cornstarch, and adding a few drops of essential oil to give the mixture a personal scent. After washing and drying your feet thoroughly, apply the mixture to your feet using a damp washcloth. Do not rinse off.
Step4
Make a simple liquid foot deodorant by mixing 1/4 cup each of witch hazel extract, aloe vera gel and mineral water. Add 1 teaspoon glycerin and a few drops of lavender, or your favorite essential oil to this mixture, and transfer the mixture to a spritzer bottle. Be sure to shake before every use.
Step5
Use a facial cleanser or toner as a cleanser for your feet. Besides removing sweat and odors, these cleansers will improve the skin on your feet as well.
