Panography is a great way to get a full life view using your camera. Panography is the process of taking multiple shots of a location and manually piecing them together to create a panoramic view of your subject. Panography is an art form that can take quite awhile to master, but if you follow these steps, you'll be a pro in no time.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Find the perfect shot for your panography. Your subject should be interesting, and you should be able to see everything you'd like to shoot from your location.

  2. Step 2

Set up your camera. For a good panography, the exposure should be the same for each shot. It is best to use a camera that has manual f-stop, shutter speeds, focus and white balance.

  3. Step 3

Take multiple shots of the subject area from many different angles. Use more than one roll of film and go crazy!

  4. Step 4

Develop your photos at the nearest photo store. If you want to save some of the photos you will need to make copies.

  5. Step 5

Prepare the canvas. You will need a flat surface that you can set the photos on. Make sure the surface is clean and dry so the photos don’t get ruined.

  6. Step 6

Assemble the panography. Place your photos one-by-one on the surface. Rotate the photos until the pictures match. Piece the pictures together like a puzzle until the panography begins to take shape.

  7. Step 7

Use an adhesive to attach the photos to each other. Be careful to ensure the adhesive doesn’t smear on the exposed parts of the photos.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also use photo-editing software, like Photoshop, to make a digital panography.
  • Take as many shots of an area as you can. Take multiple shots of one area at different angles.
  • Don’t get upset if your first panography doesn’t look right. Or your second. Or your third. Panography takes time to master.
