How to Know When to Start Using Anti-Aging Skincare Products

While it may seem like your skin is still youthful and fair, it is never too early to stop the tides of time from sweeping away your good looks. Beating wrinkles once they have formed is an almost impossible challenge but keeping them from forming in the first place is a whole different story. If you want to look good into your middle years and beyond, then start using anti-aging products and strategies now.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Use sunscreen every day that you step outside or even stand near a window. Sunscreen is the best anti-aging product in the world, and you can and should start using it in your childhood.

  2. Step 2

Moisturize your face every day as soon as you hit puberty. One of the biggest causes of skin aging is the loss of elasticity in your skin, so keep it moisturized and soft from day one.

  3. Step 3

Use anti-wrinkle creams at the first signs of wrinkles, no matter how subtle. Even if you are only in your twenties, the key to stopping wrinkle damage is to prevent it before it gets a foothold.

Tips & Warnings
  • More expensive does not always mean better. Read the labels and find that some “store brand” products have the same ingredients as the big guns.
  • Do not jump the gun with cosmetic surgery. If you get a wrinkle or two, treat it with topical products.

on 8/10/2009 Great tips - I wish I had learnt to start looking after my skin at an early age...I think parents need to set the example for their kids.

on 11/29/2008 I like the sunscreen advice and the overall message that it is never too early to think prevention. I might have liked some specific ingredient suggestions for those just beginning to start an age-prevention program.
