The most important thing is to choose colors which complement your skin tone and hair color. In your sixties you’ll be dealing with dry skin, and you may also find that your eyebrows and eyelashes are beginning to thin.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Lipstick
  • Foundation
  • Lipliner
  • Eyeshadow
  • Concealer
  1. Step 1

Wash your skin with a hydrating cleanser and pat dry with a towel.

  2. Step 2

Apply a tinted moisturizer that closely matches your skin tone, or apply a moisturizing foundation if you need heavier coverage. Set the foundation with a light dusting of powder.

  3. Step 3

Fill in your brows with a brow pencil that matches the color of your brows and hair, or use a color that is one shade darker if you desire.

  4. Step 4

Apply eyeshadow over the entire lid area in a shade that closely matches your natural skin color.

  5. Step 5

Apply eyeshadow in a complementary color (a shade or two lighter than the base shadow is best) to open up your eye area and give eyes a brighter look. Start above the outside corner of the eye, then sweep color up to the crease of your lid.

  6. Step 6

Apply eyeshadow that’s slightly lighter than your natural skin color across the brow bone. Blend this in well with your fingertips or a cotton swab. This will help brighten your eyes and open up the eye area.

  7. Step 7

Apply one or two coats of mascara if desired. Don’t be tempted to apply more if your eyelashes are thin.

  8. Step 8

Use a lip-liner to outline your lips. Apply liner just outside your natural lip-line if you want to give your lips a fuller appearance.

  9. Step 9

Use a lip brush to fill in your lips with matching lipstick.

Tips & Warnings
  • Tinted moisturizer is much easier to apply, and doesn’t require “setting” with powder. Using powder can make your skin look drier and more lined than it really is.
