  1. Step 1

Put on your dress before applying makeup.

  2. Step 2

Wear an old, large T-shirt over your dress in case any makeup spills.

Even out your skin tone using a foundation that matches your natural color. You may need to apply concealer to cover blemishes missed by the foundation.

  4. Step 4

Use powder to set the makeup on your face.

Define your eyebrows using a brow pencil.

  7. Step 7

Use a highlighting shadow on your brow bone and at the tear ducts of your eyes.

  8. Step 8

Sweep a medium-light color shadow across the lids of your eyes to compliment your eye color and dress.

  9. Step 9

Sweep a darker shade of shadow into the creases of your eyes and at the corners of your eyes.

  10. Step 10

Line your eyes with a dark liner to give them definition and an elegant evening look.

  11. Step 11

Use waterproof mascara in case you sweat or encounter rain or water.

  12. Step 12

Use a sheer color on your lips that is two or three shades darker than your natural lip color.

  13. Step 13

Apply gloss to make your lips shine.

  14. Step 14

Consider using glitter if you have smooth skin.

Tips & Warnings
  • Bring makeup with you for touch-ups throughout the evening. Carry the bare essentials in your bag including foundation, eyeliner, mascara and lip color.
  • Higher quality products may be more expensive, but they often provide better results.
  • Test all new products on a patch of your skin before using on your face to make sure they do not cause an allergic reaction.
