If you or your ancestors are Asian, there are specific types of makeup that will look best for you. Choosing the best makeup if you're Asian is not difficult, but there are a few things you should keep in mind in order to look your best every day.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Choosing Makeup for Asian Skin

Step1
Choose a foundation, concealer and powder that work for you. If you're Asian, you may wish to stick to colors that have yellow undertones.
Step2
Look for pale apricot or pink blushes that match nicely with your naturally flushed color.
Step3
Play up your Asian heritage with your eyes. Use black eyeliners for definition and mascaras and eye shadows that will complement your brown or black eyes.
Step4
Curl your eyelashes to make them appear longer and thicker.
Step5
Choose plums, mauves and reds for lip colors. Avoid pinks, browns and oranges, as they will not complement your skin tone.
Step6
Define and darken your eyebrows with a pencil matching your natural hair color.
Step7
Test all products at a makeup counter before purchase.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't fall into the trap of trying to imitate current trends, which do not include makeup tailored to different skin tones. You'll achieve a much prettier look by using products that complement your coloring.
  • Test all new products on a patch of your skin before using on your face to ensure they do not cause any irritation or allergic reactions.
