Instructions

    • 1

Organize and plan your podcast. Are there going to be hco-hosts? Are you going to have callers? Are you going to take on specific topics per episode, or are you going to read letters and address specific situations depending on who writes you?

    • 2

After you plan it out, you are ready to record. Hook up your microphone to your computer and start recording.

    • 3

If you have callers or want to record two people from different locations having a conversation live, you can easily do this with a program like ichat and Garageband. Just have everyone sign on to ichat, initiate an audio chat, and press Record on Garageband and it records everything.

    • 4

Afterwards, convert your recording into an mp3 file, if it doesn't do so automatically.

    • 5

Open up a podcasting software program so you can edit your podcast and add features. Add chapters so listeners can jump back and forth in between sections if necessary. Add art and background music to contribute to the mood.

    • 6

After you're done, put the file onto a server, and then you can take the links and publish them onto your webpage.

    • 7

When you have enough episodes, create an RSS feed for your listeners so they can conveniently subscribe to your podcasts.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure you fill out your ID3 tags. This allows listeners to search for your podcast. Also, fill out the description, because this is your chance to explain yourself and convince others that your podcast is worth listening to.

  • Be responsible with your advice. Do your research, and be aware of who your audience is.

  • Don't use music illegally. There are many royalty-free music sites that you can get your music from.
