2. Ask about the availability of billboards along a route your girlfriend drives on a regular basis.

3. Ask about price, length of time the billboard will be displayed, and how far in advance reservations for the billboard need to be made.

4. Check with two other companies if possible to compare rates and service.

5. Prepare the message for the billboard. It can be as simple as, "Will you marry me?" or it can be a bit more ambiguous. If you do decide to go the more ambiguous route, do be sure that your girlfriend will know the message is for her.

6. Decide what you will do when your girlfriend discovers the billboard. You will need to have the ring and a few words prepared to make the engagement official.
