Looting refers to the unlawful taking of goods, usually during times of disaster or military action. If you witness looting, you can help the police by providing a detailed report.

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer with Internet access
  • Video camera or camera

Report Looting to the Police

Step1
Get a good look at a suspect without getting too close.
Step2
If you can, take a picture of the looting suspect or capture the event on a video camera.
Step3
Write down details about the suspect as soon as possible. Include descriptions of clothing, skin color, height, body type and any defining physical features such as tattoos.
Step4
Call 911 to report looting in progress. Remember that you have the option to remain anonymous.
