Step 1
Read thoroughly all the printed material the court gives you regarding the DUI class you must attend. Decide when you can most easily attend DUI class. Many schools now offer evening and weekend classes.
-
Step 2
If you've lost your license, look for a DUI class near your residence. But don't settle just based on geography: some classes offer more options than others, such as flexible schedules that let you attend class at night or on the weekends.
-
Step 3
Speak with fellow students in your class if you're feeling alone in your DUI conviction. Some areas have support groups for those going through this process.
-
Step 4
Hold on to your certificate of completion for the course. You must present this to the court.

on 10/15/2009 I got my first and hopefully last DUI in Clive, ia and then I attended the ALPP DUI classes in Des Moines, IA http://www.alppinstitute.com it took me only two days and I not only completed the course and got my license back without having to go to jail but I learned some very valuable lessons about drinking and driving that are going to help me in the future.
I was very lucky that I did not get in a accident or seriously hurt someone because of my driving while intoxicated. I got another chance and I intend to use that second chance to shape up my life. Good luck to any of you that are being affected by alcohol.

on 12/30/2008 Hi Kate
Are you in California? I'm wondering because my boyfriend just got a DUI and I'm reading up and some sites are saying that online courses are not available in CA? Do you have any idea what it takes to be able to take an online course?
THANKS SO MUCH!
Cindy
