Step3
Ask your doctor what the stage of your gallbladder cancer is, as this will effect the choice as well. Many doctors
Step4

Choose a Gallbladder Cancer Treatment

Step1
Choose a treatment that fits your specific situation, with the help of your oncologist.
Step2
Talk to other patients who chose the same form of treatment and find out what you can do to make the process easier.

Tips & Warnings

  • Find out what the goal of each treatment option is. In some cases, treatments do not eradicate the cancer, but simply assist in preventing other parts of the body from contracting the disease.
  • You have the right to ask as many questions as you want and to take the time you need to choose the correct treatment for you. Make a list of questions before you visit your doctor each time to ensure you get all the answers you seek.
  • Ask your doctor about combining treatments and whether this would work for your situation.
  • Once treatment has completed, it's important to maintain regular doctor visits to ensure the cancer doesn't come back, in either your eye or another part of your body.
  • Patients facing eye cancer treatment often seek the aid of a counselor or psychologist to help them through the process. If you're feeling depressed and overwhelmed, you deserve to get the help you need.

on 8/26/2008 I found this article to be offensive and off base. There is no effective treatment for gall bladder cancer. This diagnosis is devastating to the patient and their family as chemotherapy and radiation are not considered effective. Generally patients are given a short time to live and end up in terrible amounts of pain. something needs to be done to continue research in this rare cancer. Please stop giving patients false hope.
