How to Uninstall Opera
During the initial process of downloading the Opera browser, all of the necessary files might not have been transferred. If this is the case, then you always have the option to uninstall Opera and try again. Uninstalling the browser is just as simple a process--if not a simpler one--than installing it.

Uninstall Opera From Your Computer

Close all other programs and open the search function for your entire computer system.

Type Opera into the search box and hit return. Wait until all results come up for the search.

Look through and highlight all the results that only pertain to the Opera browser. Note the date each file was modified or created so as not to delete a file that doesn't correspond to the Opera browser.

Make sure you've highlighted all necessary Opera files and drag them to the trash icon on your desktop. After highlighting the files, you can also right-click and choose delete on Windows or Ctrl + click on the file and select 'Move To Trash' for Macs.

To re-install your Opera browser, you will have to visit its Web site and download it once again (see Resources below). Note that can upgrade your Opera browser without uninstalling it--the new download will override any older files.

Tips & Warnings
Make sure your computer has the minimum system requirements before downloading Opera. All Windows users need at least 20 MB of free disk space and Windows 95 or higher. The Standard C++ Library and an X11R6.3+ implementation are required on a Linux system. Mac users should be running OS X Jaguar (10.2) or higher.
