How to Change Your Feeds Options in Firefox

In the current online climate, blogs have become a big part of the way in which we get our information and our entertainment. With the popularity of blogs, RSS feeds have sprung up as a way to access the latest information from your favorite blogs in an orderly fashion. With Firefox, you can change your feed options whenever you like by taking some simple steps.

  • Computer with Internet access

Change Your Feed Options in Firefox

Step1
Navigate to the top menu bar and click on Tools for Windows-based systems. For Mac users, you'll need to click on the Firefox menu.
Step2
Click on Options (for Windows users) or Preferences (for Mac users). This will open a new box with 7 different icons across the top.
Step3
Click the Feeds icon. The two different feed options will now be visible.
Step4
Choose between the 2 feed reader options offered. You can ask for a preview of different readers or select from a list.
Step5
Click on an available feed readers or hit the 'Choose Application' button to pick an application from your computer.
Step6
Press the 'OK' button to save a change you've made (Windows users). Mac users just need to close the preferences box to engage the feed option changes.

Tips & Warnings

  • Download the popular Firefox browser for free at the Mozilla download page (see Resources below).
  • Check your computer to see if it meets the minimum system requirements. Windows owners must have Windows 98 or higher, 64 MB of RAM, 50 MB of free disk space and a 233 Mhz processor. Mac users need a 233 Mhz processor, 64 MB of RAM, 50 MB of free disk and Mac OS X 10.2 or higher. The Linux kernel 2.2.14, 64 MB of RAM, a 233 Mhz processor and 50 MB of free disk space are needed for Linux.
  • Learn more about the Firefox browser by checking out the support section of the Mozilla Web site (see Resources below).
  • Surf the Internet without having to worry about unsavory Web sites trying to steal your personal information. Firefox is fully equipped with many security features, including forged site detection.
  • If you're not running Firefox 2.0.0.2, be sure and download it before applying the following steps. These directions might not work on previous Firefox versions.
