How to Uninstall Firefox
Firefox is a full-featured browser that allows you to take advantage of everything the Internet has to offer. However, you may prefer other browsers after trying Firefox. If this is the case, then you may want to uninstall Firefox from your computer. Alternatively, if you want the newest version of Firefox, you could first uninstall your old version.

Uninstall Firefox on Your Computer

Click the 'Start' button on your computer's desktop. Your computer's menu will open.

Click the 'Control Panel' icon to access your computer's control panel.

Locate the 'Add or Remove Programs' icon in the menu list.

Double-click the 'Add or Remove Programs' icon to launch this feature.

Scroll through your list of programs until you locate 'Mozilla Firefox.' The programs are listed in alphabetical order.

Click the 'Mozilla Firefox' listing to highlight it.

Click the 'Remove' button. The 'Mozilla Firefox Uninstall Wizard' will launch.

Choose the 'Next' button to move forward.

Click the 'Uninstall' button on the next screen to begin removing Firefox.

Click 'Finish' in the Uninstall Wizard window to complete the process.

Tips & Warnings
You can download the latest version of Firefox at the Mozilla Web site (see Resources below).
If you are going to make a purchase online or submit personal information, look for the 'Lock' icon in the Firefox status bar to make sure the Web site you are using is utilizing a secure connection.
The directions for removing Firefox are written for a Windows-based computer. If you use Mac OS or Linux, review how to uninstall programs for those operating systems.
To use Firefox, your computer needs to meet minimum hardware requirements. For Windows, the minimum requirement is a 233 Mhz processor, 64 MB of RAM, 50 MB of free space on your hard drive and Windows 98 or greater. The minimum requirements for a MAC are a PowerPC G3 processor, 128 MB of RAM, 75 MB of space on your hard drive and Mac OS X 10.2.
These directions were written for Firefox 2.00.2. If you are running a prior version of Firefox, some of these steps may not work for you. Consider upgrading to Firefox 2, as it can be downloaded for free and runs on Windows, Mac OS and Linux.
