  1. Step 1

Download and install Amaya by visiting the Amaya main page (see Resources below).

  2. Step 2

Click on the menu choice 'File' and select 'New' for a new document. Then pick the type of file you want to open.

  3. Step 3

Watch for the new tab or window to open to the desired Web page. Now that the page is open, you can browse the Web with ease.

  4. Step 4

Take different actions, including double-clicking on a link to open the link in a new tab, window or the same window. You can move between pages by going backward and forward with the keyboard, button bar or file menu.

Tips & Warnings
  • Visit the Amaya page on the World Wide Web Consortium Web site to download the current version of Amaya (see Resources below).
  • There are many security features included with the Amaya software. When visiting or leaving a Web site, you won't have to worry about closing multiple pop-up windows, as Amaya has a pop-up blocker as part of the software.
  • Get more information about using Amaya by visiting the Amaya User Manual (see Resources below).
  • Check your Windows-based computer or Mac to make sure they have the minimum system requirements. Run at least Windows 95 or higher on your computer. Mac users should have OS X Jaguar (10.2) or higher.
  • If you single-click on a link in the browser, you will not activate the link. Instead double-click to visit a link.
  • Before you put these directions to use, make sure you're running version 9.54 of Amaya. All of the following steps apply to that version and will more than likely not work with previous versions.
